Well I did it

Well after switching to Team Chocolate, and after much waffling on my part, I finally frogged all the way back to the beginning of the color work and re-did it with the black as the lower (left hand) strand

I am SO glad I did! The lines look so much cleaner now. Who would think it would make that much of a difference? Whew! I'm glad I didn't take it all out for nothing! I'm not sure how well you can tell from the pictures, partly because the before picture is washed out, but trust me, it looks better :)

I know it doesn't look like I've done all that much, but you gotta remember I have knitted it all twice lol. And that I designed that Josephine's Knot myself.

Also, that I had 2 kids with birthday parties and cakes to decorate this week.

And that you cannot do colorwork and watch Survivor at the same time.

I think I've almost mastered knitting with my right hand now, too. I finally figured out how to wrap without letting go of the right hand needle, or feeling like I'm going to drop it. It's still much slower than my left, but it feels like something I can manage.

Woohoo, gold medal here I come!

  1. Sounds like you made the right choice! Way to go. I'm reconsidering...my first sock was finished, but I think I need to rip back and shorten the length of the foot. As a first timer knitting socks I really over-shot the length issue. Shouldn't be a problem, with the weekend coming up I should have more knitting time.

  2. I really am so glad I did it. Though I only frogged about 14 rows, they were stranded rows so it was doubly hard to take them out!

  4. Hi! You had asked about my mistake in the jiffy ballet sweater. I didn't switch from the eyelet rib to the eyelet pattern. I am notorious for missing subtle things like that in patterns. You also have to watch sewing up the shoulder seams because if you don't, it's easy to wind up with a too small neck hole. Overall, I'm not real thrilled with the pattern, to tell you the truth.

  5. Hi! Thanks! The sweater just looked wrong until I put it on her and it looks great on! The buttons are butterflies. They are so cute! The legwarmers are worked in the round in the same stitch pattern. No sewing. Whew!
